Kinloch Road Closure
Latest information on the closure of Kinloch Road. Updated 1.52pm, 19 November 2024.
A temporary bypass around Kinloch Road and the washout is open and available for use.
Drivers are asked to please use the bypass with courtesy and respect for contractors as they finish off further work to help secure the alternative route to Kinloch and Greenstone Valley.
Have you been affected by the washout on Kinloch Road?
Council continues to liaise with affected individuals and organisations including the Retreat, DOC and Greenstone Station.
If you are or were affected by the road closure, a temporary bypass is now in place and able to be used to exit the area.
What about rental cars?
If you were initially affected by the Kinloch Road closure and were unable to leave with your rental car, please contact your rental car company to discuss your options.
With the bypass now open, any rental cars affected by the road closure can now be retrieved.
Information for visitors arriving in Kinloch after Saturday 9 November 2024
Council has restored access to Kinloch and Greenstone Valley by way of a temporary bypass. In the meantime, work continues on rebuilding Kinloch Road.
