Councillor Glyn Lewers

Queenstown-Wakatipu Ward

I am based in Frankton where I live with my family and I work as a Structural Engineer. I initially gained a Surveying degree from Otago University and then an Engineering degree while working in the mine and marine sectors in Australia on large infrastructure projects.

I have spent six years as a member of the Frankton Community Association, four of those as chair. I am involved with junior rugby, being a coach for the last five years and I am also a current board member of Destination Queenstown.

I stood for Council to further the ambitious ten-year infrastructure plan and have a drive for it to succeed. I also want to see the vision 2050 statements underpin our decisions for our wonderful District. I am excited about our collective future and looking forward to working with a “can do” Council.
