Get Active Community Grant pass information
If you've found this page it means you've been given one of our Get Active Community Grant passes. We have a quick guide on how to use the passes that can be considered in addition to the terms and conditions found on the back of the pass.
Three different passes and pass types
The 2024-2025 Get Active Community Grant has three passes available:

This can be used for a one-off pool entry, or for an aqua programmes entry, at either the Queenstown Event Centre, Arrowtown Pool, or Wānaka Recreation Centre pool.
-
We are pleased to now offer sensory hour at our pools, please refer to our website for more information.
-
Please note that the Arrowtown Pool is only open during the summer season. Please refer to our website for pool hours: Sport and Recreation (qldc.govt.nz).
-
Lastly, please be aware of our pool policies, which can be found on our website: Swim | Queenstown Lakes District Council (qldc.govt.nz)

This pass can be used for all programmes valued up to $8 at the Wānaka Recreation Centre and Paetara Aspiring Central.

This pass can only be used at the Queenstown Event Centre. This pass grants access to our gym, group fitness classes and the climbing wall.
-
Please note that you need to book into a group fitness class and the climbing wall, which can be done using our online portal.
Important terms and conditions:
-
These passes are valid for one year from 1 September 2024 – 31 August 2025
-
Your member must present a pass for access to our facilities. No pass, no access
-
The pass cannot be redeemed for cash value
-
Carers can go free. Please note that carers are defined as a person there to support your member (physically and/or emotionally) during their exercise experience who otherwise couldn’t do it alone. If the support person does not fit this criteria, they will need to pay for entry or use one of your allocated passes.
If you have any questions throughout this funding year regarding your passes, please don’t hesitate to contact samantha.saccomanno@qldc.govt.nz.
At the end of this grant year, we will invite all recipients to an informal round table discussion to hear your thoughts and feedback on how the passes were received from your members. Samantha will be in touch to organise this as we approach the end of the grant cycle.
