Wanaka Station Park

In the late 19th century, Wanaka Station was a large sheep station, encompassing land from the head of Lake Wanaka through to the Cardrona Valley.
Today, what remains of the land around the original homestead has been preserved as a park for the enjoyment of all. The original homestead may have burned down (twice over the years as a matter of fact) but the foundations remain and the beautiful mature trees including fruit trees and giant redwoods, continue to give pleasure.
