History / Description
Originally the site of the White Star Hotel, a local watering hole that burnt down in the early 70’s, this popular public space has slowly developed over the years from a flat gravel carpark with Horne Creek channelled through an underground pipe, to a well used community asset.
In 1994 Baxter Design Group was tasked with creating a design that re-engaged the town with Horne Creek. This was successfully achieved and further improvements were made after 2006 following public consultation on the Camp Street upgrade.
The new and improved village green features historical interpretation panels, improved seating, concealed lighting and tree planting.
